CAMPOS Scholar Theanne Griffith is a "Rising Star of Neuroscience"
We’re proud to celebrate Dr. Theanne Griffith, CAMPOS Scholar, for being named one of The Transmitter’s Rising Stars in Neuroscience 2025. Dr. Griffith’s groundbreaking research explores how sensory proprioception shapes pathways across the brain, spinal cord, and skeletal muscle—advancing our understanding of how the body senses and controls movement. Her innovative approach, which integrates electrophysiology, behavior, and molecular profiling, has positioned her as a leader in the field.
Her scientific excellence has been recognized nationally with prestigious honors from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, McKnight Foundation, and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, reflecting both the depth and promise of her work. Beyond the lab, Dr. Griffith is also a passionate educator and mentor. She is the author of The Magnificent Makers and nonfiction books for Ada Twist, Scientist, bringing accessible and diverse STEM storytelling to young readers. Her commitment to scientific outreach earned her the 2024 Science Educator Award from the Society for Neuroscience.
