LACCEI features Renetta Tull in its Bulletin

In the September 2025 issue of the LACCEI bulletin, Vice Chancellor for Inclusive Excellence and LACCEI President Renetta G. CAMPSSAH Faculty Scholars Receive DHI Research Fellowships

CAMPSSAH Faculty Scholars Kathleen Cruz, Natalia Duong, and Zinzi Clemmons received the DHI Research Fellowships. The 2025 Faculty Research Fellowship cohort also includes Lilia Soto, whose project examines the experiences of Latinx women in Napa’s wine industry, and Julietta Hua, who studies how insurance and financies shape immigrant labor and life.

UC Davis Stands Out for Research, Teaching, and Global Impact in New Rankings

The University of California, Davis has earned the No. 10 ranking among the nation’s public universities, according to the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026—positioning UC Davis at 25th among more than 1,500 U.S. public and private institutions and 64th among nearly 2,200 universities across 115 countries and territories.

From Combat to Campus

When José Roa graduated from high school in Woodland, California, college didn’t feel like an option.

“I didn’t think I was college material,” he said. “I just didn’t connect with school at the time.”

 

So instead of enrolling, Roa enlisted in the U.S. Army. What he found there changed the course of his life.
