Record Admissions Reflect UC Davis' Ongoing Commitment to Expanding Access and Opportunity
For fall 2025, UC Davis offered undergraduate admission to more than 55,700 students—a record high and a nearly 9% increase over the previous year. That includes over 45,900 first-year applicants, a 10.4% rise, and continued growth in admission offers to California residents, first-generation college students, and those from low-income backgrounds.
These milestones are more than just numbers. They reflect UC Davis’ long-term efforts to expand educational opportunity through targeted, student-centered initiatives. Programs like our regional K–16 education collaboratives and Avanza—a college preparation and support program serving students across the Central Valley and beyond—are helping create stronger, more equitable pathways to a UC education. Among California first-year admits, 34.6% would be the first in their family to graduate from a four-year university, and 34.2% come from low-income households.
UC Davis is not only enrolling more students—we're investing in their success. By supporting students from early academic stages through college transition, we're helping ensure that a world-class education is accessible to those who have historically been left out of higher education.
Note: In compliance with Proposition 209, UC Davis does not consider race, sex, or ethnicity in admissions decisions. All offers of admission are based on a comprehensive review of academic achievement, personal accomplishment, and potential for success.
