Record Numbers of Latinx, African Americans in UC Davis Entering Class

The University of California, Davis has posted historic enrollment figures for its fall 2025 entering class, welcoming the highest-ever numbers of Latinx and African American undergraduates in its history. According to newly released systemwide data, UC Davis enrolled 2,564 Hispanic/Latino(a) and 428 African American new U.S. domestic undergraduates, marking a significant milestone in the campus’s continuing effort to reflect the rich diversity of California and the nation. In total, 9,466 new undergraduate students joined the Aggie community, with the class drawn from 54 of California’s 58 counties, 45 states and U.S. territories, and 54 countries.

These enrollment gains come alongside other notable measures of student success and access: 40.3 % of new undergraduates reported they are first-generation college students, 31.3 % are low-income, and 38.1 % are Pell Grant recipients, underscoring UC Davis’s commitment to broadening opportunity for students from historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The campus also received a record 120,131 applications and issued 55,739 offers of admission for fall 2025.

These record-breaking figures align with UC Davis’s broader Inclusive Excellence efforts—strategic, data-driven initiatives designed to increase access and success for all students. Through programs and partnerships that strengthen student pathways from early academic preparation to degree completion, the campus continues to make progress toward a more equitable and representative student body while maintaining rigorous academic standards and fostering a vibrant, inclusive educational environment.
