UC Davis Stands Out for Research, Teaching, and Global Impact in New Rankings

The University of California, Davis has earned the No. 10 ranking among the nation’s public universities, according to the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026—positioning UC Davis at 25th among more than 1,500 U.S. public and private institutions and 64th among nearly 2,200 universities across 115 countries and territories.

The ranking framework evaluates research-intensive universities across five key areas: teaching (29.5 % of the score), research environment (29 %), research quality / influence (30 %), industry income (4 %), and international outlook (7.5 %). These metrics reflect not only UC Davis’s strong academic programs and impactful research enterprise, but also its global engagement and real-world contributions. The university also shines in other rankings: it ranks second in the U.S. among public universities in setting graduates up for financial success, and is highly placed for social mobility and innovation.
