For fall 2025, UC Davis offered undergraduate admission to more than 55,700 students—a record high and a nearly 9% increase over the previous year. That includes over 45,900 first-year applicants, a 10.4% rise, and continued growth in admission offers to California residents, first-generation college students, and those from low-income backgrounds.
UC Davis recently hosted the Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) Forum, drawing students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners into a half-day of discussion focused on strengthening student pathways and academic success. In a world where technology accelerates change, participants reflected on the importance of critical thinking and the shared responsibility to “affirm the dignity inherent in all of us,” as expressed in the UC Davis Principles of Community.
Ron Austin’s UC Davis degree—earned 47 years after his first class—shows what’s possible with the right support. His story is helping inspire a regional “Comebacker Campaign,” part of the K–16 Regional Education Collaborative grant that includes UC Davis. Through this effort, partners across the region are building clearer, more connected pathways for returning students of all ages to complete their education and advance their careers.

University of California, Davis was one of only 10 universities in the U.S. to recently be recognized with an Institutional Excellence in DEIA in Biomedical and Behavioral Research Prize Competition from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Our regional partners asked for a one-stop hub to explore UC Davis programs that support K-14 schools, educators, students, and families. As a large campus with extensive outreach efforts, we know it can be challenging to find the right opportunities. This resource connects teachers seeking professional development, students and families exploring college and career readiness programs, and initiatives aligned with high-need career pathways in fields like healthcare, education, and engineering.
Congratulations to Cindy Rubio González, 2014-15 CAMPOS scholar and associate professor in the department of computer science in the UC Davis College of Engineering, for being one of only nine faculty to be named a 2024 Chancellor's Fellows — a title given to early career academics doing exemplary work.
